LALIGA FC 27 Matchday: Film Label’s Local Production Support in New York

When international clients bring a project to New York, they often turn to Film Label for local production support. They need a team that knows the city, understands their expectations, and can work comfortably alongside their own producers and creatives.

Spain-based LALIGA and Monkey Minds have a longstanding relationship with Film Label for their New York events. For LALIGA FC 27 Matchday, that partnership brought us together again—this time at ZeroSpace in Brooklyn for a day of football, gaming, and entertainment.

Monkey Minds led the creative direction and on-site filming. Film Label provided our New York production team and coordinated the local support behind LALIGA’s content coverage, from afternoon interviews through the evening’s action.

Football Legends Meet Creator Culture

Held as part of the EA SPORTS FC 27 World Premiere, LALIGA FC 27 Matchday brought Luis Figo, Marcelo, Rivaldo, and Javier Mascherano together with content creators from around the world.

The activation reflected LALIGA and EA SPORTS’ “Transforming the Game” alliance, connecting football with gaming, entertainment, and fan culture. Inside ZeroSpace, that meant a mix of talent interviews, creator interactions, live football, and an audience experiencing it all up close.

For our team, the assignment was to capture both the personalities and the atmosphere: the conversations before the match, the competition on the pitch, and the reactions around it.

A Familiar Partner and a Team Ready to Work

An ongoing relationship makes a difference on a production like this. Having supported previous New York projects with Monkey Minds and LALIGA, including FC Futures South Bronx, we came into Matchday with an understanding of how the teams work together and what local support needed to deliver.

We deployed our crew across two camera positions, two photography roles, production assistance, and dedicated interview sound. Photo editing was built into the workflow from the outset to support the overnight delivery schedule.

Working alongside Monkey Minds and LALIGA’s social team, our crew moved through the different demands of the day. Afternoon creator coverage required mobility and quick responses. The dedicated talent interviews called for a prepared setting, coordinated camera angles, and clear audio. By evening, attention shifted to the pitch and the energy surrounding the match.

Film Label’s role was to keep those local production elements coordinated so the creative team could concentrate on the content.

Capturing the Moments Around the Match

With football legends and creators sharing the space, there was as much to capture between scheduled moments as during them.

Our photographers covered match action alongside arrivals, candid exchanges, audience reactions, and celebrations. The visual brief emphasized spontaneous images with the participants at the center—photographs that reflected the personalities in the room and the competitive spirit on the pitch.

The video team supported LALIGA’s own content coverage within the wider event, moving from interviews into sideline reactions, crowd moments, and post-match interactions.

It was a day that required anticipation across the crew: knowing where to be, staying in communication, and being ready as the focus moved from one part of the venue to another.

From Brooklyn to the Players’ Feeds

The photography workflow was planned around an overnight delivery schedule aligned with the start of the working day in Spain, so the overseas team would have material ready for its communications.

The work subsequently appeared on LALIGA’s social channels and in posts from Luis Figo, Marcelo, Rivaldo, and Javier Mascherano, who each shared photography captured by our team.

That gives this production a visible life beyond the room: moments from a Brooklyn event reaching the communities following the league and its legends.
